Quick answer: Ten Chase Sapphire Lounges are now open, nine in the US plus Hong Kong, and access is a Sapphire Reserve benefit, not a Preferred benefit. A family of four pays $27 per visit, with two guests free and kids under two free.

Chase has been quietly building the best credit-card lounge network in America, and 2026 was the year it pulled ahead. LaGuardia’s Sapphire Lounge was just named the world’s best independent airport lounge by Skytrax. The Points Guy named the whole network the best credit-card lounge network of 2026. And — the one that matters most for this site — Dallas Fort Worth finally got its Sapphire Lounge in July.

Here’s the full 2026 picture: every lounge, what it costs a family of four to walk in, and which ones are actually worth planning around.

The state of the network

Ten Sapphire Lounges by The Club are now open — nine in the US plus Hong Kong:

One more is confirmed: Los Angeles (LAX) in the Tom Bradley International Terminal. Chase hasn’t announced an opening date. A second pipeline lounge is also in the works: Miami (MIA), Concourse E above gate E7 — roughly 13,800 square feet, blueprints published, awaiting final approval.

How access actually works

The short version: this is a Sapphire Reserve benefit, not a Sapphire Preferred one.

  • Who gets in: Primary cardholders and authorized users of the Chase Sapphire Reserve, J.P. Morgan Reserve, and Ritz-Carlton credit card. (Sapphire Reserve for Business primary cardholders too.)
  • Guests: Two guests free per visit. Each additional guest is $27. Kids under two are free.
  • What you need: Your physical Reserve card or your Chase-issued Priority Pass Select membership (activated in the Chase app) plus a departing boarding pass — entry is allowed within three hours of departure. Note: Priority Pass memberships from other cards stopped working at Sapphire Lounges in August 2026.
  • Preferred cardholders: No Sapphire Lounge access. You do get Priority Pass Select, which covers other lounges — just not these.

The family-of-four math

This is where families need to pay attention, because the guest policy was clearly written for couples:

  • 1 cardholder + 2 free guests + 1 additional guest at $27 = $27 per visit for a family of four.
  • Kids under two don’t count against the guest limit — free.
  • Two Sapphire Reserve cards in the household (one per parent, with each as the other’s authorized user — authorized users get their own lounge access) = 4 free entries, covering the whole family at zero marginal cost.

That last point is the real play — with one honest caveat. Adding an authorized user costs $195/year, so the math only works if you visit enough: $195 ÷ $27 ≈ 7.2, meaning you need about 8 lounge visits a year to break even. At 6 visits a year, just paying the $27 guest fee ($162 total) is cheaper than the authorized user fee.

The DFW lounge: why Dallas families should care

DFW is our home airport, so this one gets the full treatment. The lounge opened July 16, 2026, post-security in Terminal D near gate D25, open 5 AM–10 PM daily. At 18,000 square feet across two levels, it’s the largest credit-card lounge at DFW.

What’s inside:

  • The network’s first dedicated whiskey lounge — guided tastings and a custom barrel selection exclusive to DFW. It doubles as a sports-watching area.
  • Face Haus facial treatments, complimentary. Peloton stretch and meditation sessions designed for the lounge (launching here first).
  • Family room, private nursing room, showers, and reservable rest pods.
  • Food by Encina (the Bishop Arts District restaurant): blue corn butterscotch pancakes in the morning, slab bacon with cheddar grits later. Coffee from Fort Worth’s Cherry Coffee.
  • Original murals by Dallas artist Kyle Bunting.

Practical note: DFW’s Skylink train connects all terminals airside without re-clearing security, so you can reach Terminal D from anywhere in the airport.

Which lounges are worth a detour

Best for families: Philadelphia. TPG’s reviewers call it the best lounge for keeping kids happy, period — a beer garden for the adults, a retro arcade for bigger kids, and a playroom for small ones. If you have a PHL connection, route through it deliberately.

Best food: San Diego. Reviewers consistently single out the SAN kitchen — it’s the lounge people say ruined regular airport food for them. Great natural light and tarmac views too.

Best overall: LaGuardia. Skytrax doesn’t hand out “world’s best” lightly. Two levels, ~21,800 square feet, and the flagship of the network.

Best for Dallas locals: DFW. Obviously. The whiskey lounge and facial treatments are network firsts, and it’s the only one you can visit without a connection.

Is the Reserve worth it for the lounges alone?

The Sapphire Reserve carries a $795 annual fee. Lounge math:

  • A family of four visiting 6 times a year at $27/visit in guest fees = $162 — plus the primary cardholder always free.
  • But the honest comparison is against buying lounge access another way: a Priority Pass restaurant credit or a $50–$75 per-person airline club day pass. Four people × $59 × 6 visits = $1,416/year at airline club prices.
  • With two Reserves (or one + authorized user, once you’re past ~8 visits/year), all of that drops to $0 marginal.

The lounges alone don’t justify $795 — the travel credits, points earning, and transfer partners do that work. But if you’re already in the Reserve ecosystem, the lounge network is the single highest-value lifestyle perk on the card, and 2026 is the first year the network is dense enough to count on.

The bottom line

Chase spent four years building this network, and it shows: the world’s #1 and #3 independent lounges, a legitimately family-friendly flagship in Philadelphia, and — finally — a home-town lounge at DFW with a whiskey bar and free facials. If you hold the Sapphire Reserve and fly through any of these ten airports, the lounge is no longer a nice surprise. It’s part of the plan.

Which credit cards get you into Chase Sapphire Lounges?

The Chase Sapphire Reserve, J.P. Morgan Reserve, and Ritz-Carlton credit card — primary cardholders and authorized users. The Sapphire Reserve for Business works for primary cardholders. The Sapphire Preferred does not include access.

How many guests can you bring to a Chase Sapphire Lounge?

Two guests free per visit; each additional guest costs $27. Children under two are admitted free and don’t count toward the guest limit.

Is there a Chase Sapphire Lounge at DFW?

Yes — it opened July 16, 2026, in Terminal D near gate D25. It’s 18,000 square feet with the network’s first whiskey lounge, complimentary Face Haus facials, a family room, rest pods, and food by Dallas restaurant Encina. Open 5 AM–10 PM daily.

Do you need a boarding pass to enter a Chase Sapphire Lounge?

Yes — you need a same-day departing boarding pass, and entry is allowed within three hours of your scheduled departure. If you’re on a connecting itinerary, the window extends to five hours.

What’s the best Chase Sapphire Lounge for families?

Philadelphia — it has a beer garden, retro arcade, and dedicated playroom. DFW is the runner-up with its family room and private nursing room.
