Quick answer: Carnival drink packages and Wi-Fi move to dynamic pricing on December 1, while FunPack prices are locked in when booked and are claimed to save 35% to 55% against buying items separately. For a 7 night sailing, 2 adults on Social at $60 a day plus 2 kids on Kidstarter at $25 a day totals $1,190 in add-ons.
Details verified October 23, 2026.
Carnival FunPacks just changed the math on cruise add-ons. Starting December 1, drink packages and Wi-Fi plans move to dynamic pricing. That means the price you pay will depend on your sailing length, itinerary, and season. Book a holiday sailing and you will likely pay more than someone on a quiet September cruise.
But there is a window to lock in today’s prices. Carnival launched four FunPacks that bundle drinks, Wi-Fi, excursions, dining, and more into one pre-cruise purchase. They are only bookable through October 30 for sailings through the end of 2027. After that, you are at the mercy of the algorithm.
Here is what families need to know.
What changes December 1
Right now Carnival publishes fixed prices. Drink packages run from $6.95 to $69.95 per person per day. Wi-Fi plans start at $20.40 to $25.50 per day. You know the cost before you sail.
From December 1, those fixed prices disappear. Carnival will adjust them sailing by sailing, the same way airlines price seats and hotels price rooms. A 7-night Caribbean cruise over Christmas will cost more for the same drink package than a 4-night sailing in October.
Carnival has not published what the dynamic ranges will look like. Royal Caribbean has used this model for years, and there the same drink package has ranged from roughly $70 to over $120 per person per day depending on the sailing.
The four FunPacks
Before the switch, Carnival is selling bundled FunPacks at fixed prices. They combine the most requested add-ons and Carnival says they save 35 to 55 percent compared to buying each item separately. Service charges for drinks and dining are included.
Kidstarter: $25 per person per day. This is the family one. For kids ages 3 to 17: unlimited soda and juice with a souvenir cup, a social Wi-Fi package, 1,000 arcade tokens, and 50 percent off bulk candy. If your kids live on soda and the arcade, this pays for itself fast.
Zero Proof: $50 per person per day. Unlimited nonalcoholic drinks, value Wi-Fi, a $50 shore excursion credit, and a $25 specialty dining credit. Built for the non-drinkers in the group.
Social: $60 per person per day. This one introduces Cheers! Social, a brand new drink option with unlimited nonalcoholic drinks plus three alcoholic drinks per day. It also includes premium Wi-Fi, one shore excursion (up to $100 value), one specialty dining meal (up to $55 value), and 50 percent off spa treatments and photos.
Epic: $99 per person per day. The everything bundle. Fifteen alcoholic drinks per day plus unlimited nonalcoholic drinks, premium Wi-Fi, two shore excursions, two specialty dining meals, 50 percent off spa and photos, a bottle of sparkling wine, and a bag of laundry.
The family math
For a family of four on a 7-night sailing, the numbers get real fast. Two adults on the Social pack ($60 x 2 x 7 = $840) plus two kids on Kidstarter ($25 x 2 x 7 = $350) comes to $1,190 in add-ons. That is before you have paid for a single excursion outside the bundle.
Under dynamic pricing, those same packages could cost meaningfully more on a peak sailing. Carnival has not said how much more, which is exactly the problem. When the price is a moving target, the only way to control it is to lock in early.
What to do before October 30
If you have a Carnival sailing booked between now and the end of 2027, price out the FunPacks against what you would buy anyway. The Kidstarter pack is the easiest win for families. Soda, juice, and arcade tokens are things kids will consume regardless. At $25 a day with 50 percent claimed savings, it is hard to lose on.
The booking window is October 13 through October 30. After that the FunPacks disappear and dynamic pricing takes over on December 1.
One more thing worth knowing: FunPack prices are locked in when you book. Dynamic pricing will not touch them. That is the whole point of buying now.
When does Carnival dynamic pricing start?
December 1, 2026. From that date, drink package and Wi-Fi prices will vary by sailing length, itinerary, and season instead of a single published price.
