Quick answer: Bilt Daily Rewards start January 15, 2027, giving a reward for every monthly rent or mortgage payment made on time, plus one per day for a qualifying neighborhood partner activity. Existing card earnings do not change, but Bilt Cash hotel redemptions move to twice a year from January 1, 2027, and Bilt to Hyatt drops from 1:1 to 4:3 on the same date.

Bilt announced its 2027 updates on October 26, and the Bilt 2027 changes matter most for families in three places: a new Daily Rewards program tied to your housing payment, new rules for Bilt Cash, and new perks for elite members. If your family pays rent or a mortgage through Bilt, here is what actually changes, what gets better, and the one part that gets narrower.

Bilt 2027 changes at a glance

Starting January 15, 2027, every on time monthly rent or mortgage payment earns a Daily Reward. One qualifying activity with a neighborhood partner each day earns one too: a meal, a class, or a ride. Each Daily Reward reveals two rewards and you pick one to keep. Rewards range from instant Bilt Points or Bilt Cash to collectibles that build toward grand prizes, including $1 million toward the purchase of a home, 10 million Bilt Points, free rent or mortgage for a year, free Lyft rides for a year, and a dream getaway.

If you hold a Bilt Card, your existing points earnings do not change. Daily Rewards stack on top of what you earn today. That is the most important sentence in the announcement for current cardholders: nothing you already earn goes away, and the new program is additive.

What Daily Rewards mean for a family paying a mortgage

A family that pays its mortgage through Bilt every month would collect 12 Daily Rewards a year from housing payments alone, plus one more each day it taps a qualifying neighborhood partner. Daily Rewards apply whether you pay with a bank account, a debit card, or a credit card, so you do not need a Bilt Card to participate.

Keep the grand prizes in perspective. The $1 million home prize and the free mortgage for a year are lottery style prizes built from collectibles, and Bilt has not published odds or the value of a typical instant reward. The guaranteed part of Daily Rewards is the instant points or Bilt Cash. The grand prizes are a fun upside, not a reason to choose Bilt on their own.

Bilt Cash: longer to use it, fewer hotel windows

Bilt Cash gets two changes that pull in opposite directions.

First, the good one. Bilt Cash now expires at the end of the month, 12 months after you earn it. There is no more year end deadline and no more rollover scramble. For example, $100 earned in February 2026 now expires February 28, 2027. For families who earn Bilt Cash sporadically, a rolling 12 month window is easier to manage than a single year end cliff.

Second, the narrowing. Starting January 1, 2027, Bilt Cash hotel redemptions move from monthly to twice a year. Each redemption is worth up to $50 at Blue or Silver status ($100 per year), up to $100 at Gold or Platinum status ($200 per year), or up to $200 for eligible Palladium cardholders ($400 per year). If your family used small monthly hotel credits, plan around two bigger windows instead. At Blue, the no fee tier most families would start on, that is $100 a year toward eligible Bilt hotel bookings, split across two redemptions.

New elite perks: family sized stays and rental car status

Gold and Platinum members will be able to redeem Bilt Points at checkout for Home Away from Home hotel bookings in 2027, including access to eligible luxury hotel benefits. For families, this is the perk with the most practical value in the announcement, because Home Away from Home properties are built for groups and longer stays, not just solo travelers.

Elite members also get rental car status matches in 2027. Platinum members can unlock Sixt One Platinum status and Hertz President’s Circle. Gold and Silver members can unlock Sixt One Gold status and Hertz Five Star. On a family road trip, rental car status means faster pickup and a better shot at a larger car, which matters more with kids and luggage than it does on a business trip.

Bilt Card changes: one cap, one mode retired, credits moved

The card side of the announcement is mostly simplification. Everyone earns up to 1.25X points on rent or mortgage. Bilt is retiring Flexible Bilt Cash mode, which earns 4 percent back in Bilt Cash on everyday spend. If you want to keep earning in that mode, you must opt out of the new benefits in your card settings before your card anniversary date. Annual Bilt Cash credits now land on your card account anniversary instead of January 1. For Palladium cardholders, the $200 Bilt Cash credit and the $400 hotel credit become one $600 Bilt Cash credit each year, usable toward eligible hotel stays or anything else Bilt Cash redeems for. For Obsidian cardholders, the $100 Bilt Travel hotel credit becomes $100 of Bilt Cash each year. Everyday points multipliers are unchanged, and Obsidian and Palladium cardholders can still redeem Bilt Cash for Point Accelerator. Product upgrades are live in the Bilt app now if you want to check your eligibility.

Do not confuse this with the Hyatt change

This announcement is separate from the Bilt change families may already know about: Bilt transfers to World of Hyatt drop from 1:1 to 4:3 on January 1, 2027, under an earlier October 1 announcement. That change still stands, and for families it arguably matters more than the new perks, because Hyatt is the transfer partner most families get the most value from. The 2027 updates in this article do not reverse or soften the Hyatt ratio change. Judge Bilt on both pieces together: new Daily Rewards and elite perks on one side, a weaker Hyatt transfer on the other.

The bottom line for families

If your family already pays rent or a mortgage through Bilt, the 2027 changes are mostly upside with one real narrowing. You keep your existing points earnings, you gain Daily Rewards on every on time housing payment, and Bilt Cash gets a friendlier expiry window. The cost is that hotel credits come twice a year instead of monthly, so plan family hotel stays around those two windows.

If your family does not use Bilt yet, Daily Rewards alone are not a reason to start. The math still comes down to whether Bilt fits your housing payment and whether its transfer partners, including Hyatt at the new 4:3 ratio, beat what your current cards earn. Start with that comparison, and treat Daily Rewards as a bonus on top, not the decision itself.

When do Bilt Daily Rewards start?

Daily Rewards launch January 15, 2027. Every on time monthly rent or mortgage payment earns one, and one qualifying neighborhood partner activity per day earns one more.

Do I keep my existing Bilt Points earnings?

Yes. If you hold a Bilt Card, your points earnings on rent and mortgage do not change. Daily Rewards are added on top.

How does Bilt Cash expiry change in 2027?

Bilt Cash now expires at the end of the month, 12 months after you earn it. There is no more year end expiration or rollover. For example, $100 earned in February 2026 expires February 28, 2027.

How often can I use Bilt Cash for hotels in 2027?

Starting January 1, 2027, Bilt Cash hotel redemptions move from monthly to twice a year. Each redemption is worth up to $50 at Blue or Silver status, up to $100 at Gold or Platinum status, or up to $200 for eligible Palladium cardholders.

What new perks do Bilt elite members get?

Gold and Platinum members can redeem Bilt Points at checkout for Home Away from Home bookings in 2027. Platinum members can unlock Sixt One Platinum status and Hertz President’s Circle, while Gold and Silver members can unlock Sixt One Gold status and Hertz Five Star.

Does this announcement change the Bilt to Hyatt transfer ratio?

No. The move from 1:1 to 4:3 on January 1, 2027 came from a separate October 1 announcement and still stands. This announcement does not reverse it.
